 Jim Griffin - Owner

 Wayne Causey - Ranch Manager

The J-G Ranch is located in the scenic live oak studded hills of North Central Texas about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth or 45 miles north of Waco near the town of Blum in Hill County, Texas. The terrain is mostly native pasture with some farm ground for winter oat grazing. Some hay is fed as needed during cold weather or drought.

The J-G Ranch was founded in 1978. The first parcel was purchased from 'Snapper' Benson whose family settled the area in the 1860s. Parts of the Ranch border on Lake Whitney and the Nolan River, located in the rural area between Whitney and Blum, Texas in Hill County.

The J-G stands for lots of J. Griffins - Jim, John, Julie, Justin, Jude, James, Joel, Jesse, Jake, Jordan and Josey (together with three wives Pat, Evonne and Leslie and one son-in-law, Billy Fambro). J-G Ranch has been a family operation for 45 years, and have specialized in the Angus cattle business for the last 25+ years. Besides overseeing the operations of the ranch, Jim Griffin is a retired Economics Professor Emeritus at the George Bush School at Texas A&M.

Wayne Causey is our ranch manager and does a great job of keeping the trains running on time. Wayne comes from a ranching family that has managed several large ranches here in Texas.  Wayne knows good cattle and is meticulous about caring for the ranch and cattle. If you want to talk cattle, call Wayne at 254-205-2221.
